A 12-member team from 22 Wing is taking part in the annual four-day Nijmegen Marches in the Netherlands. The team members have been preparing for the 160-kilometre march since late March, preparing for the physical and mental demands of the trek. They will return to Canada July 24th.
22 Wing is one of 14 Canadian Armed Forces teams, and one of only two Royal Canadian Air Force teams, chosen to participate in the march. The Nijmegen Marches are physically and emotionally demanding as demonstrated by the completion of 160 km of marching spread over four days. Officials say it’s an excellent fitness activity and endurance test that builds esprit de corps and reinforces core military values, reflecting the physical fitness of CAF members.
