Well-known local businessman Mike Gibb passed away on Tuesday. Gibb died at the age of 59 having previously owned Swiss Chalet and the Boston Pizza restaurants in North Bay. On top of his successful entrepreneur ventures, Gibb was also a big hockey fan.
The funeral and visitation is taking place at Hillside Funeral Services on Saturday. Gibb is survived by his wife, Alida, and children Christopher and Michelle. He was also step-father to Ashley, Daniel and Anthony Utvich.
Mayor Al McDonald posted on Facebook that he was greatly saddened to hear about Gibb’s passing. McDonald says he was a community and business leader who believed in his city and gave back generously.
