Positive recycling report for North Bay

North Bay was able to generate $60,000 in revenue from selling parts from old electronics dropped off at the recycling centre.  The figure is contained in a report to city councillors.  The report also shows that three quarters of a million pounds in leaves and grass clippings were dropped off at the centre.  The material will now be used to create composting.  Also more than 250,000 pounds of hazardous waste never made it to North Bay’s landfill thanks to the recycling centre.  That’s the result of homeowners bringing 247 tons of liquid waste products to the centre instead of putting it out as garbage.
