The new exhibit focusing on North Bay’s history opens at the Discovery North Bay Museum tomorrow. The exhibit examines the role the people of Nipissing played in the fur trade and artifacts include fur-trade era muskets, birch bark canoes and archeological objects.
It also looks at the local logging industry plus other artifacts detailing North Bay’s contribution to the various wars including both World Wars. Another display highlights the history of the local railway and there are also shipwreck-related artifacts from Lake Nipissing. The grand opening is at 1:00pm.
