The Northern Ontario Party is holding their Cramp the Camper food drive for the North Bay food bank tonight. It’s taking place at the Sobey’s on Algonquin from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, and they’ll be holding another one on July 27th at the Food Basics on Cassells Street.
NOP leader Trevor Holliday says North Bay is home for him, and he wants to help the people in the city who depend on the food bank to live. He says everywhere he goes, including on the radio, he hears how the North Bay Food Bank is hurting for help. Holliday says it’s especially tough in the summer, so the NOP is doing this not as a political move or a personal move. He says it’s important to him to help out the less fortunate in the community who depend on the food bank. Holliday says in his opinion there’s no better way to help than going out and holding a food drive.
Holliday says as a political party, they understand what it’s like to rely on memberships and donations. He says they know what it’s like to have to scrimp and scrounge every last penny to get what they need. Holliday says whatever they can do for the community, they’ll be doing it because they want to show that the NOP is the party of the people.
