A man and a woman from Mattawa are facing a number of charges following a drug bust by the Ontario Provincial Police. On July 23rd, the Community Street Crime Unit in Papineau-Cameron Township, with help from members of the OPP’s Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, North Bay Crime Unit, and the Mattawa OPP carried out a search warrant.
As a result of the warrant, a 44-year-old man is facing nine criminal charges, including three counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was held in custody and will appear in court in North Bay on July 27th. The 37-year-old woman is facing eight criminal charges, and was released on a Promise to Appear. She has a court scheduled for September 20th in Mattawa.
