Tory finance critic Vic Fedeli says the NDP blew a chance to ensure Ontario residents aren’t hit with new taxes – like a 10 cent gas tax. On Wednesday, Fedeli’s motion calling on no new taxes was defeated in the Legislature. Fedeli says it would have passed if the NDP had sent more of its MPPs to vote on his proposal. But he says only three New Democrats showed up to support his motion which wasn’t enough to get it passed the Liberal government. Fedeli says the NDP had a chance to stand up for taxpayers and chose not to.
