Members of North Bay Fire and Emergency Services had to deal with a pair of fires, a house fire on Metcalfe Street and a car fire on Highway 11 North over the weekend. No one was injured in either incident.
Fire fighters got the house fire under control in about 30 minutes, but they spent five hours cutting through the roof and walls to put out the blaze extensions. The structure was a total loss and damage is pegged at $200,000.
The car fire happened on Saturday about 10 kilometres from the McKeown Street station, and the car was quickly destroyed.
