With North Bay getting ready for Summer in the Park this weekend, the future of another local festival will be decided soon. Mattawa council will be discussing this year’s Voyageur Days, looking at the final numbers, and weighing the good against the bad before making a final decision. That decision is expected to come down by the end of August.
Officials believe the festival will survive, but it will be forced to change. Organizers of both Summer in the Park and Voyageur Days have stressed how competitive it is booking acts. If Voyageur Days survives, due to the competition, it will have to change. The final numbers for wristband sales isn’t known yet, and since they were sold at different locations around the area it could take some time.
