Redpath Mining hiring miners in Northern Ontario as the industry begins to heat up

The mining sector in Northern Ontario seems to be heating up, with Redpath Mining looking to hire 20 miners to work in the region, and more than 50 positions are up for grabs globally. Redpath, which has its head office in North Bay, is looking for miners to work in a number of different Northern Ontario mining operations. The skilled mining positions are in Northern Manitoba and in the communities of Red Lake, Kirkland Lake and Sudbury.

Redpath’s payroll is at 6,500 people, which is 2,000 more than 18 months ago, and across the province Redpath employs 800 people. Officials are looking for two years’ experience working underground, possessing common core training and qualifications and a high school education for the 20 jobs in the north. In years past, Redpath has received plenty of resumes from experienced people looking for work to choose from, but that has changed.
