Union Gas issues to be resolved by noon Tuesday

Union Gas customers in the downtown area should expect service to be restored by noon Tuesday.

Officials with Union say that a gas line on Oak Street was accidentally knocked out of service Monday, leaving 120 customers affected by the outage. A Union Gas representative said that the line has been fixed and the company is working as quickly as possible to restore service.

The Gathering Place has been without gas since the outage began Monday, as have residents living in the area surrounding the courthouse. A representative of the Homewood Suites on Oak Street West said Tuesday morning that they had been without service Monday evening, but are no longer experiencing issues.
