Former hospital site ‘years away’ from being developed

ArgDevco, owners of the land on which the North Bay General Hospital – Scollard site sat, are asking the City of North Bay for an extension to the development charge credit associated with that property.

In a report, city staff is recommending an extension of the original five year credit for an additional four years, until 2021. This came after ArgDevco had outlined difficulties in developing the site, including the completion of a Record of Site Condition (RSC), which the proponents have told staff has “taken a significant amount of time is very costly.”

According to the report, the owners, on advice from their environmental consultants, are operating as though they are “two years away from completing the RSC process.”
