In a surprise move at North Bay City Council, Tuesday, the Chair of Community Services Mark King referred the report outlining the staff recommendations for a second off-leash dog park back to committee.
The staff choice of Laurentian Park off Carruthers Street seemed to be the perfect location, according to some d0g lovers in the city.
Not so fast.
King is not sold on the location, saying he has heard complaints that it is too populated. He is also unsure whether the same sort of arrangement can be reached to avoid the taxpayers footing the bill for the park.
King is looking to gather more information at the committee level before proceeding with the matter. He says that the move does not mean that the park will not happen. The decision on when and where will just not be as immediate as some thought.
