Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre is reaffirming his commitment to his constituents of being one of the strongest advocates for the mining industry. The Canadian Mining Innovation Council and the Centre for Excellence in Mining are together turning to the federal government for $950 million in funding over five years to build a mining super-cluster.
All of Northern Ontario will benefit, under the CLEER ((Clean, Low-energy, Effective, Engaged, and Remediation) consortium, says Serre. CLEER would look to create jobs and grow the economy says Serre and the timing is perfect as it comes on the heels of Kathleen Wynne’s announcement to move forward with the Ring of Fire
Added Serre in a statement, “I am very happy the Government of Ontario recognizes the massive economic benefit the Ring of Fire will bring to all Northern Ontario residents, indigenous communities and all size of industry.”
