Dr. Stacey Mayhall, executive director of the AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area announces that a tentative agreement struck on July 28 has been ratified by both parties, concluding one year of negotiations.
The workers, members of CUPE Local 4720-04 approved the deal earlier in August and the ACNBA board of governors followed suit last week.
The union represents 11 workers at the AIDS Committee, including social workers, outreach workers, medical professionals. The employees cover North Bay and service an area from Parry Sound to Timmins.
Those workers provide services such as dispensing medications, needle exchange and retrieval, counselling, and critical coordination with other agencies for people in crisis.
