It’s that time of year: frost advisory!

Environment Canada is issuing a frost advisory for Thursday overnight into Friday for North Bay, West Nipissing and several nearby locales: North Bay – West Nipissing

  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity,
  • New Liskeard – Temagami,
  • Burk’s Falls – Bayfield Inlet,
  • Huntsville – Baysville,

An Arctic high-pressure area will bring clear skies and light winds to parts of Ontario tonight. As a result, frost is expected as temperatures drop to near the freezing mark.

Some plants may be damaged or even destroyed by frost. Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.

Expect temperatures to rebound to 18 C Friday afternoon. Friday night into Saturday, the forecast is calling for clear skies and a low of 8 C.
