Friends and family are hosting a celebration of life for beloved North Bay musician Jim Harney. The multi-talented Harney passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer in April.
One of the organizers of the celebration, Jocelyn Bell-Summersby, invites those who were touched by such a “beautiful person,” as Jim to join in the celebration. The Summit Room at the Voyager Inn will be filled with laughter, some tears, and a steady helping of musical talent from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. this Sunday.
Friend and fellow musician John MacDonald writes that he wrote a song for Harney and will perform it with help from those assembled for the harmonies. The only catch, continues MacDonald, “is that you have to smile while you sing it cause we all know Jimmy would have.”
The event’s Facebook page invites guests to “share in music, love, laughter, stories, and comfort with a community that Jim had surrounding him in his life.”
