For thieves, it’s been a smashing summer

Following five break and enters over the Labour Day long weekend, North Bay Police Service reporting three more occurrences, all on Tuesday, at area businesses.

Police say a crowbar was used in the early evening to pry open a side door of the Parkside Animal Hospital on Lakeshore Drive to gain entry. A cash box containing a small amount of cash was taken. NBPS are investigating.

Absolute Hair & Esthetics also a victim to a break and enter during the early evening. Police say a rock thrown through a window allowed for entry. A laptop and a small amount of change were stolen.

Tuesday morning, an alarm at the Fox and Fiddle caused NBPS to respond. Police found a door that was not secured, officers entered and found no one inside. Nothing appears to have been taken at this time.
