Both the men’s and women’s Nipissing University Lakers soccer teams will be in action Saturday afternoon at Laurentian University in Sudbury. The games will kick off the 2017-18 705 Challenge Cup, a rivalry competition between the North Bay and Sudbury schools spanning across various varsity sports.
The women will take to the pitch at noon, while the men’s game begins at 2:15 pm.
Both squads split their games last weekend in Kingston. Both teams defeated RMC while falling to Queen’s.
Women’s soccer player Andrea Young has scored four goals in four games, good for second in the OUA.
