Early Sunday morning, North Bay Police Service say a man stepped outside of a bar located in the 100 block of Main Street East for a cigarette and was struck by another man. The victim fell to the ground and when he attempted to get back up, police say the accused kicked him in the head.
Paramedics attended the scene and the victim was transported to the North Bay Regional Health Centre, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police charged a 20-year-old North Bay man with one count of assault causing bodily harm. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
