OPP is identifying Shawn Cote, 32, of West Nipissing as the driver who was found dead at the scene of a collision on Highway 17 at Verner between his vehicle and a transport truck early last Wednesday morning.
At 12:36 am, on September 6, members of the Warren and Sudbury detachments of the OPP, the West Nipissing Fire Department, and the West Nipissing EMS responded to the scene of the collision, where Cote was pronounced dead.
Highway 17 was closed until 8:00 am. A detour around the collision scene was available.
The investigation revealed that his westbound vehicle crossed the centre line and collided head on with the eastbound tractor trailer.
Police say no charges will be laid.
