The Crime Severity Index in North Bay has risen over the past year. And Deputy Chief Scott Tod says police believe drug-related crimes are responsible for the increase. Despite the crime index going up, Tod says North Bay is still a safe city. Tod made the comments at Tuesday’s Police Services Board meeting. He says the increase can be traced to more handguns being used in drug-related matters.
