NDP succeed in vote over new ministry for mental health and addictions

A Private Member’s Bill by a Northern Ontario New Democrat to create a ministry for mental health and addictions has passed a key vote.  France Gelinas of Nickel Belt proposed the Bill and got it to the next stage of debate without Liberal support.  Apparently several Liberal MPPs left the Legislature which allowed the remaining MPPs to outnumber the Liberals who opposed the Bill.  The NDP say the lack of Liberal support shows they don’t consider mental health and addictions issues a priority.
