Invictus Games flag in North Bay

Wounded warriors will be honoured when the ceremonial flag of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 stops in North Bay on its journey across Canada.

On Monday, September 18, flag ceremonies will take place at CFB North Bay outdoor track from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm, and from 5:30 pm until 6:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 599, located at 30 Legion Dr. in North Bay.

Local flagbearers personifying what it means to be “Invictus,” will help spread the spirit of the Games. The national flag tour has covered the country from coast-to-coast, and by the time the flag reaches Toronto on September 22, will have visited 22 Canadian Armed Forces bases, 15 Royal Canadian Legions and over 50 communities.

The Invictus Games helps wounded warriors in their recoveries by using adaptive sports. The Invictus Games were established by Prince Harry and the inaugural Games were held in London, England, in September 2014.
