A collision between a school bus and a silver SUV left Trout Lake Road closed to traffic this morning.
Witnesses at the scene say the bus, which was without passengers, blew a tire and swerved wildly, colliding with the oncoming SUV. The bus came to rest with its rear perched on the guardrail on the lake side of the road.
Emergency crews worked to extract a passenger from the heavily damaged SUV. The same witness says the SUV driver was conscious before being transported to the hospital, but the extent of injuries is unknown.
Trout Lake Road remains closed between Lees Road and Lakeside Drive while the investigation continues. Authorities say the road could remain closed for much of the afternoon.
