A 54-year-old Bracebridge man faces a charge of having more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood and a Liquor Licence Act violation.
In the afternoon of September 24, officers from the Powassan detachment of the OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 11.
Officers located the vehicle and suspected that the driver to have consumed alcohol. A roadside breath sample registered a fail. The man was placed under arrest and transported to the detachment for further breath tests. Police say the breath tests revealed that the driver had over the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for an automatic term of 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in court in North Bay on October 3.
