MPP Fedeli gets assurances regarding Lady Isabelle

Health and Long-Term Care Minister Eric Hoskins is responding to Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli’s overtures regarding the future of Lady Isabelle Nursing Home and its residents.

Following a recent conversation the two had in the Legislature and Fedeli’s letter sent to the Minister dated July 26, Hoskins assures in a letter of his own that the ministry “will be exploring all possible options,” when it comes to keeping long-term care beds within the community.

The Lady Isabelle Nursing Home in Trout Creek was shut down by the province’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in July for infractions related to improper staffing, wound care, and infection control.

Hoskins writes that he is committed to keeping beds in Trout Creek. The Minister adds in his letter that if a proposal is brought forward to maintain a home in Trout Creek, he will assist where possible.
