Classes could be disrupted at Ontario colleges by mid-October

About half a million college students in Ontario might not have any school by the middle of the month.  It’s because the Ministry of Labour has issued a no-board report which puts both sides in a strike or lockout position as of October 15th.  The Ontario Public Service Employees Union asked for the mandate over education quality issues.  The union claims the colleges pay contract employees low wages, and also don’t offer them any benefits or job security.  Before either side takes any action, they have to give a five day notice of their intentions.  A strike or lockout would affect students attending colleges in Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Timmins.
