Barons to collect for fall food drive

Students from Algonquin will hit the streets on Wednesday from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm to collect non-perishable food items for the North Bay Food Bank. They will be canvassing Algonquin Avenue up to McKeown Avenue, Main Street West, and Jane Street areas.

Last week, Widdifield students collected 2,000 pounds of food, and West Ferris students collected 7,000 pounds of food donations.

The annual fall food drive helps give the shelves at the food bank a boost as the season of giving continues.

Baby food, formula and pablum are the items for October most required, however, the Food Bank welcomes all non-perishable food items as donations.

The North Bay Food Bank is available to accept food and monetary donations year round. The Food Bank is located at 1016 Fisher Street in North Bay and is open to serve clients Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00 am until noon, and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
