The highways are expected to be busy this weekend as people drive out for Thanksgiving gatherings. That means Operation Impact is in full force with the OPP. The four-day initiative will see police watching for aggressive, distracted and impaired drivers. They’ll also be ticketing people who aren’t buckled up. Police say history shows long weekends tend to be among the deadliest times on OPP-patrolled highways. The goal is to keep the number of all incidents down. Police say collisions happen for a reason and urge drivers to make the right choices so they arrive at their destinations alive.
