Annual Fall Food Drive nets 13,600 pounds of food

Organizers are calling this year’s Fall Food Drive a great success.

Students have gone door-to-door for the last three weeks collecting non-perishable food items for the North Bay Food Bank.

St. Joseph – Scollard Hall collected 1,800 pounds of donations, Widdifield 2,000, Algonquin 2,800 and West Ferris students collected 7,000 pounds of food, and also collected the donations from Widdifield and helped unload at the food bank.

The North Bay Food Bank would like to remind the public that October’s Food of the Month is baby food, pablum, large sized diapers and wipes; however, the food bank welcomes all non-perishable food items as donations.

The North Bay Food Bank is available to accept food and monetary donations year round. The food bank is located at 1016 Fisher Street in North Bay and is open to serve clients Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. For more information, call the North Bay Food Bank at 705-495- 3290.
