Afternoon RIDE stop leads to pot charge

On October 2, at 3:35 pm, officers at the North Bay OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Program on Highway 94 in East Ferris Township.

A vehicle approached the RIDE Program, and officers say they could smell a strong odour of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A search located a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

As a result of the police investigation, a 22-year-old East Ferris Township woman is charged with

  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marijuana, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
