Maybe this bear cub wanted a better view of our famous sunsets?

Property with a view of those gorgeous Lake Nipissing sunsets costs a pretty penny, so this animal climbed and squatted in a lakefront tree instead.

Who knows? Maybe the cub had wandered down to the shores of the lake in anticipation of catching one of North Bay’s displays of pink skies and fiery sunsets.

Firefighter Randy Karn (shown above) and other members of North Bay Fire and Emergency Services’ Ladder 1 lowered the tranquilized bear cub back to solid ground from its perch after the cub had climbed the tree along Memorial Drive on the city’s waterfront Friday afternoon. Firefighters responded and rescued the snoozing cub after MNR personnel had tranquilized it.

Time of the rescue: 2:57 pm. We hope the cub gets to see that spectacular sunset one day.
