Two new ridings created for Northern Ontario

The Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation says two new ridings in Northern Ontario will benefit First Nation people.  David Zimmer was reacting to the splitting of two existing ridings to better represent First Nation communities in remote areas.  The ridings were created by dividing Timmins-James Bay as well as Kenora-Rainy River.  One new riding will have a 68 percent Indigenous population while the other has 27 percent First Nation people and 60 percent Francophones.
