Man takes to ditch to avoid being run down by spouse

North Bay Police say they have laid several charges against a woman after her partner had to seek refuge in a ditch to avoid being run down by her in a vehicle.

The woman had attended police headquarters originally claiming to be the victim of a domestic assault, where police say she made a false allegation against her partner.

Police say upon returning to her shared residence, the woman assaulted the victim by biting and scratching him. The man ran from the house and police say the woman threatened to run him down in her vehicle. She accelerated towards the man and he sought safety in the ditch until police arrived.

The woman faces charges of public mischief, spousal assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm to a spouse.
