Mediator in faculty strike calls for return to bargaining table

The Ministry of Labour mediator has called the parties in the ongoing college teacher’s labour dispute back to the bargaining table. The parties will be returning to the table tomorrow.

A representative for the Ontario Colleges says they have asked the mediator for this measure.

Sonia Del Missier, chair of the Ontario Colleges’ bargaining team says that the strike has been lengthy and disruptive. “We will focus our efforts at the table and work very hard to reach a deal that ends the strike.”

The college faculty members have been on strike since October 16th, with the main sticking point being the increasing amount of contract work for professors.
