NBPS hands out arrests for possession of firearms and drugs for Halloween 

North Bay Police Service is reporting the Halloween day arrests of a B.C. couple with some frightening items in their possession.

On October 31, two arrests were made by members of the NBPS Street Crime Unit in conjunction with members of the NBPS Emergency Response Team. The OPP also provided assistance during the investigation.

A search warrant has been executed at a residence in Powassan, and a search of two vehicles has been performed.

As a result of the investigation:

A 32-year-old British Colombia man has been charged with these and other offences

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a firearm with the serial number removed
  • Possess firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Heroin

A 43-year-old British Columbia woman has been charged with these and other offences

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a firearm with the serial number removed
  • Possess firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in Heroin

Both subjects are being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
