Board gives details of Dionne Home move

The Dionne Quints Heritage Board has officially announced that the Dionne Quints Home will be transported to its new location on the morning of Sunday, November 19.

Some details have been firmed up, with the board expecting that the Home will be delivered to its new location by 10:30 am on that Sunday. Almaguin Home Movers of Emsdale, Ont., has been contracted for the project. Two flatbed transports will be used to load the disassembled home on Friday, November 17, in advance of the move.

The trucks will move the Home in three sections (main level, roof section, and porch) and will travel through the core of the city to the new site off Oak Street West. The Home will be situated to the west of the City public parking lot, between the Discovery Museum and Marina Point Apartments.

Construction of the foundation has been mostly completed, with levelling modifications scheduled for the Sunday when the Home is delivered. Tambeau Construction is the general contractor in charge of the foundation and will assist with placement of the Home.
