Thursday morning just before 5:00, Powassan OPP say they received a call about a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 at Highway 522.
Officers attended the scene and began an investigation into the collision. The vehicle hit a rock cut and had extensive damage to it. The driver was taken to the North Bay Regional Health Centre by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
While investigating the collision, officers located a quantity of a liquid substance believed to be methadone.
As a result of the investigation, a 66-year-old North Bay man has been charged with:
- Possess a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Careless Driving
The accused has been released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on December 5, in North Bay.
