The partnership between Swiss Space Systems and Canadore College has taken flight. S-3 has launched their first preliminary test flights at North Bay’s airport. The test flights took the collaboration of seven local companies, including North Bay Machine Centre, who built a custom jig structure. The space company announced in June they would be testing their robotic rocket shuttle at Jack Garland Airport, which will eventually launch small satellites into orbit. Captive flight tests using helicopters will get underway in the spring.
