A 70-year-old hunter lost in the French River area took the advice of OPP. For years police have told hunters if they become lost, stay put and don’t wander around the bush. The reason is as they look for you, they check off where they’ve been. But if you’re wandering around in the bush, you make it tougher for a search team to find you since you nullify their grid pattern. In this case the hunter became lost around 6:00 p.m. Monday, started a fire to keep warm and was found about seven hours later in good shape.
