Funding for the ‘Jewel of North Bay’

MP Anthony Rota has announced a total of $445,980 in funding for the Capitol Centre in North Bay.

Mike Roth, chair of the board of directors calls the Capitol Centre “the jewel of North Bay,” while gratefully acknowledging the financial support on behalf of the board. The Capitol Centre, a not-for-profit organization, is marking its 30th anniversary season.

The centre will receive $295,980 through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund, which is administered through the Department of Canadian Heritage. This investment will be put toward infrastructure improvements to the local heritage building and sound system upgrades.

The Canada Cultural Spaces Fund plays a key role in improving physical conditions for artistic creativity and arts presentation or exhibition. It is also designed to increase access for Canadians to performing, visual and media arts, and to museum collections and heritage displays.
