North Bay rated 108th among Most Dangerous Places

North Bay falls somewhere in the middle when it comes to the Most Dangerous Places.  That’s according to Macleans magazine which ranks the city 108th out of 229 communities.  North Bay’s sexual assaults, assaults, frauds and some drug-related crimes rates are above the national average.    However the number of robbery rates, break-ins and impaired driving incidents are below the national average.  In terms of ranking with other communities in the northeast, North Bay fared better than Timiskaming Shores which at 25th place was the worst ranked community as the Most Dangerous Place.  The northeast’s second Most Dangerous Place is Timmins in 56th spot, then it’s Sault Ste. Marie which ranks 81st  and then Sturgeon Falls which is rated 102nd.   Only Sudbury was rated better than North Bay which placed 115th on the list and the Elliot Lake region which clocks in at 128th.  North Battleford, Saskatchewan is rated the Most Dangerous place in the rankings.
