A federal-provincial job fund is now available to employers. In North Bay, the contact point is Yes Employment. Spokeswoman LeeAnne Maile says it’s the Canada-Ontario Job Fund and it’s a program to help train employees. Maile says although the application form is lengthy, it’s not complicated but it does ask specific questions. The program also has restrictions like the training has to take place in Ontario and the trainer has to be a third party. The feds and province pay two thirds of the training cost up to $10,000. Maille expects the business community to benefit from a new program. Employers apply online and for more information call Yes Employment at 476-3234.
