According to the North Bay OPP, a 51-year-old man from North Bay has been arrested and charged after stopping at a RIDE check because he was not supposed to have contact with his passenger.
Tuesday at 4:00pm, members of the North Bay Detachment of the OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Program in North Bay when a vehicle approached.
While investigating a Highway Traffic Act Offence, the driver was found to be under conditions on a recognizance of bail stemming from a domestic assault incident. One of the conditions was no contact with the victim, who was also in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, the man has been arrested and charged with failing to comply with a recognizance.
The accused made an appearance in bail court Wednesday and was remanded into custody, awaiting a court appearance on December 5, at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay.
