North Bay firefighters will be switching to 24 hour shifts for a two year trial period, after winning an arbitration award. North Bay Mayor Al McDonald is now raising his concerns about the shift change. He feels that 24 hours is just too long for someone to work, especially when they are required to drive trucks. He points to truck driver regulations, who are not allowed to work past 13 hours. The shift change is expected to come into effect on January 1st.
