An evaluation of Cassells Street from King Street West to the Highway 11/17 bypass has been initiated by the City of North Bay.
The City is notifying stakeholders that a public information center will be held Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the City Hall rotunda, located at 200 McIntyre St. East in North Bay. The information session will give the public an opportunity to gather information about the project and to provide feedback.
The notice states that high traffic volumes have exceeded the current configuration of Cassells Street. In addition, “deteriorating road conditions, growing traffic volumes, and unsafe crossing conditions,” are leading to deficiencies along Cassells Street.
The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment will evaluate the two-, and sometimes, three-lane arterial road and the City will review alternatives for widening, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of Cassells Street.
