Police take suspected impaired driver off the road in North Bay

A 38-year-old North Bay man has received a 90-day automatic licence suspension and had his car impounded for seven days after being stopped by police.

On Friday at 6:46pm, officers from the North Bay OPP responded to a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle in North Bay.

Officers say when they spoke to the driver, they smelled an odour of alcohol coming from the driver’s breath and began an investigation.

As a result of the police investigation, the man has been charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood. He has been released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on January 9, 2018
