Baby, it’s (record) cold outside

North Bay has set records for lowest temperatures on two consecutive days this week.

Wednesday, the dial read minus 33.9C, lowering the record of minus 33.6C for December 27, set in 1993, according to Environment Canada.

Thursday morning, the temperature of minus 33.3C eclipsed the former mark of minus 31.7C, set December 28, 1951.

It doesn’t look like North Bay will break any records today. The record low, set in 1944, is minus 28.3C.  The forecast for today is sunny and a balmy minus 22C.
