We have turned the calendar to 2018 and still no official move date for the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit offices to their new location.
Executive Director of Corporate Services, Paul Massicotte says that the goal is still for a winter move-in date. He adds that the entire team is looking forward to providing public services from their future home at 345 Oak Street West.
He says that construction is 96 per cent complete, and the wait is stemming from an unexpected delay in acquiring certain construction materials. Massicotte says the arrival of the materials, and the work associated with them, is essential to the completion of the building. Occupancy cannot take place until the work is finished.
Massicotte says that the work remains on budget, and the costs of any delays are covered by the construction company, as per their contract.
